Welcome to the Carlow Wadokai Karate Academy website.

The Carlow Wadokai Karate Academy runs a full time Dojo (training centre) in Carlow town in the Republic of Ireland. Carlow Wadokai are members of Japanese Wadokai and all training and gradings are conducted through the syllabus of the JKF Wadokai Japan.

IRISH KARATE FEDERATION (IKF)

IKF membership is open to all Karate stylists who have an interest in WKF competition, through squad training and seminars. Also IKF encourages the development and research of Karate as a Martial Art and Self Defence system through the practice of Bunkai Jutsu.

The IKF is a newly formed ALL -STYLES governing body which is open to all official styles of Japanese Karate. Groups can affiliate to the IKF whilst still retain their own gradings and practices etc. The IKF will not interfere with the running of any independent member group. The IKF is an affiliation of clubs and groups coming together for competitions, courses and selection to international (WKF) competition.
